A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed following a birthday party in Camden, New Jersey. NBC10’s Leah Uko has the latest on the investigation.
Police on Saturday at about 9:32 p.m. responded to a 911 call indicating gunshots had been fired near the 1800 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabe Rodriguez. Officials said that at the scene officers found a victim unconscious.
The victim, who was later identified as a teenage boy from Lindenwold, was sent to Cooper University Medical Center and pronounced dead Saturday at 10:04 p.m. He was not identified further by police.
Investigators said the night of the shooting, the teen had attended a birthday party event at the nearby Elks Lodge on Mt. Ephraim Avenue.
Authorities did not immediately provide additional details on the incident.
