Chicago – A man was charged Wednesday in the mass shooting that killed a man and wounded four others in Wicker Park over the weekend.
Teanius Sykes, 35, was identified by police as the gunman who fired shots into a crowd of people Sunday morning in the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
Sykes was arrested at 7 p.m. Sunday.
He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and one misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a weapon.A 32-year-old man was killed in the shooting.
Three women and another man also suffered gunshot wounds.Sykes is due in court Wednesday.
