PICKENS COUNTY TEACHER CHARGED WITH INDECENT EXPOSURE AFTER ARREST AT TRAVELERS REST WALMART
Travelers Rest Police arrested John Gulius on June 5, 2022 after multiple women said he exposed his penis to them inside the Wal Mart on Benton Road in TR.
TRPD said Gulius left the store prior to officers getting on scene and then try to briefly run from a traffic stop but was quickly stopped on Highway 25.
In the incident report it said during the stop, Gulius said he was scared and that’s why he tried to leave so fast and “that he may have exposed himself inside the store.”
TRPD took him back to the security office at Wal Mart where the incident report states Gulius apologized to one his victims which was an employee at the store.
When asked why he did it, the incident report states Gulius told officers, “Just thought I’d kind of be flirty.”
Also, during the interview the incident report states Gulius did admit to being a special education teacher for Pickens County School District.
The district did release the following statement today:
“The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) was made aware by the Travelers Rest Police Department of the arrest of an employee on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
We can confirm the employee has served as a teacher at East End Elementary.
The District cannot provide detailed comments related to personnel matters, but can confirm that the teacher has not worked since May 27, 2022.
Given the seriousness of the allegations involved, he has been placed on administrative leave, where he will remain, until an investigation has been completed.”
