A Lexington teacher has been arrested on nearly two dozen counts related to child pornography.
According to the jail website, 49-year-old Kevin Daniel Lentz was arrested and booked into jail Tuesday morning.
Police say Lentz is facing seven counts of use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, 10 counts of distribution of obscene matter to minors and six counts of tampering with physical evidence.
We’re told Lentz is a teacher at Henry Clay High School. School officials say Lentz has been working for FCPS since 2005.
We spoke to both parents and students, who said they couldn’t believe something like this could happen within their own school.
“This is supposed to be a safe place for not only my kids but everybody’s kids,” said Henry Clay parent George Simpson.
George Simpson was picking up his daughter Gianna from band camp Tuesday night when he learned what had happened.
“There’s possibly a lot of terrible stuff, more than likely. A lot of times, you don’t just start doing these type of things out of nowhere; usually, it’s something that’s been on your mind,” Simpson said.
