Suspect With Multiple Warrants Arrested After Multi-County Pursuit Ends in Houston County

A vehicle pursuit that began in Twiggs County ended in Houston County Wednesday after the fleeing driver crashed into another vehicle near a church and school, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office initiated the chase in Twiggs County. The suspect crossed into Houston County, where Houston County deputies joined the pursuit to assist.

The chase came to an end on S. Pleasant Hill Road at Patti Drive, in front of Southside Church – Pleasant Hill Campus and Christ School, when the suspect rear-ended another vehicle. Authorities say all three people inside the suspect’s vehicle were taken into custody.

According to investigators, the driver had multiple outstanding warrants and now faces additional charges stemming from the pursuit.
The sheriff’s office confirms there is no active threat to the church or the school, and the roadway is expected to be cleared soon.
