A suspect is in custody after allegedly fatally shooting his stepfather in the borough of Mount Oliver on Saturday.
Allegheny County police said officers were called to a shooting in the 100 block of Amanda Avenue around 12:30 p.m. A man was found dead on the scene.
A Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 photojournalist on the scene found several police cruisers and officers investigating.
Police said the man appeared to have been shot in the doorway of his home, with six rounds being shot in total.
The Allegheny County medical examiner later identified him as Dana Burks, 49.
An update Sunday morning from county police said 21-year-old Rasheed Horne had turned himself in and was being charged with homicide in this shooting.
A criminal complaint said Horne had gotten into a fight with Burks, who was his stepfather, on Friday afternoon. That fight sent Horne to the hospital. Horne allegedly returned Saturday and shot Burks in retaliation.
Horne is being held in the Allegheny County Jail as he awaits arraignment.
