Miguel Romero has now been sentenced to 30 years in prison for drag racing at more than 100mph, while drunk and high and slamming into a car and killing an innocent woman, Audreanna Williams, and leaving her passenger so injured, she’ll likely never recover.
A jury found him guilty last month of 1st degree manslaughter and DUI with great bodily injury.
Romero did apologize to the victim’s family at sentencing, but, they say he certainly never showed any remorse before.
While out on $100,000 bond, Romero was seen on several social media posts, drinking at parties, which violated the bond.
After that, a Judge increased Romero’s bond to $750,000 and he was put back in jail.
A couple of months later, a judge reduced the bond to $500,000 and Romero got out and agreed to all kinds of rules.
Weeks later, the judge revoked Romero’s bond because he once again, violated the rules by having THC in his system and being back on social media.
At the time of the crash Romero had already had these arrests:
October 2017: guilty of obstruction and drugs: probation.
January 2020: arrested by Verdigris PD for aggravated DUI (prosecutor declined to file)
April 2020: ticketed for speeding, 11-14 mph over over the limit and not having a licensed driver over 21 in the front seat.
May 2020: guilty of assault: probation with no supervision
June 2020: guilty of defacing property and public intoxication: probation with no supervision
October 2020: ticketed for speeding 15 to 20 mph over the limit and not having a valid DL.
