RawNews1st – A murder occurred today at Park Crest Terrace in Sebring.
At approximately 10:40 am members of the Sebring Police Department responded to the Park Crest Terrace apartment complex in reference to a shooting.
Upon officers arriving on scene a male victim was located and was found to have been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
During the investigation a description of a vehicle of interest was provided to all local law enforcement agencies in which the vehicle was spotted by a Highlands County Deputy. Once the vehicle was stopped deputies detained the occupants without incident.
As our investigation continued we were able to identify one of the vehicle occupants as the suspect in the shooting.
The suspect is identified as, Elia J. Cruz (21) of Texas. Cruz has been arrested and charged with homicide.

We are exceptionally thankful to all those involved in the investigation for their quick response and assistance which led to the quick apprehension of the suspect in this case.
