Loudoun County police have identified the suspect in Sunday morning’s shooting inside the Dulles Town Center shopping mall that left one person in serious condition.
In a press release, Loudoun County Sherriff’s Office confirmed Alan W. Colie, 31, of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm within a building.
LCSO spokesperson Thomas Julia told WTOP that the police received a call on the shooting shortly before noon on Sunday and deputies arrived on the scene minutes later.
Police say Colie was found lying on the floor at one of the mall’s upstairs food courts, where they believe the shooting took place. A handgun also was found lying on the floor near the suspect.
The mall has been closed for the remainder of the day.
