Bernard Poulin has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for murder and arson.
Poulin pleaded guilty to murder last August for the murder of Nikolas Shaver, a pipe fitter from Beggs.
In May of 2021, Poulin beat and stabbed Shaver to death inside the victim’s home.
Investigators say Poulin said the victim had disrespected one of Poulin’s friends so he’d decided to beat up the victim because of it.
They say Poulin took the victim’s SUV since he didn’t want to walk, but, then dumped it in a field and set it on fire.
While in the Okmulgee County Jail, Poulin started a fire outside his cell.
This is now a conviction.
