A tragic incident occurred in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville, Ohio.
A 19-year-old girl named Mackenzie Shirilla intentionally drove her car into a commercial building at a speed of 100 mph.
The crash resulted in the deaths of two people: her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, 20, and 19-year-old Davion Flanagan.
Following a bench trial, a Cuyahoga County judge found Shirilla guilty of multiple charges, including two counts of murder.
She was also found guilty of other charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and drug possession.
Despite the defense’s argument that there was no proof of her intent to kill, the judge stated that Shirilla’s actions were “controlled, methodical, deliberate, intentional and purposeful.
This was murder.” Shirilla was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
