Barnstable police received a 911 call Wednesday night reporting a crash in the area of the TD Bank at 226 Falmouth Road.

Prosecutors said Juscelene Guedes, 29, of Centerville, got into a crash as she was trying to drive her ex-boyfriend to the hospital after she stabbed him in her apartment.

Officers found a 34-year-old man in a car suffering from an apparent stab wound to his chest.

The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Renato Chaves.

Guedes, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
