Suspect Charged and Arrested for Murder
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department Homicide Unit obtained warrants on Donald Edward Payne Jr in connection with the shooting death of Erik Darnell Anderson.
Erick Anderson was murdered at the Motel 6 located at 3719 Bragg Blvd on August 11, 2021.
Donald Edward Payne Jr (B/M, 38 years of age) of the 700 block of Galloway Drive has been charged with First Degree Murder.
Payne was arrested earlier today by members of the US Marshals Service at an apartment on Tiffany Court in Fayetteville. He was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he remains under no bond.
The Fayetteville Police Department would like to thank the US Marshals Service for their assistance in apprehending Payne.
