Suspect arrested in Virginia for stealing U-Haul containing guns and ammunition

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) announced it arrested and charged a man with stealing a U-Haul involving guns.

Police said on June 15, they located a stolen U-Haul in the Huntington area of Alexandria.

The Auto Crime Enforcement (ACE) units arrested the lone occupant, Vencent Edward Evans, 30, of Capitol Heights, Maryland.

Police said they found a gun, 3 extended magazines, and more than 200 hundred rounds of ammunition inside the U-Haul. Evans was charged with unauthorized use, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of ammo by a convicted felon and is held at the Adult Detention Center with no bond, according to FCPD.

FCPD said since January, 32 U-Hauls have been reported as stolen or the vehicles were not returned.
