RawNews1st – Detectives from the Special Investigations Bureau Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) located a stolen vehicle being driven in the area of First Street and Shields Avenue.
The driver parked the vehicle in a nearby parking lot where detectives began to approach.
The driver used the stolen vehicle to strike two CCATT vehicles and was eventually taken into custody.
The driver was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and eight additional loaded magazines. Â

The driver was also found to be an ex-gang member and a convicted felon on parole for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. He is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
The driver was booked into the Fresno County Jail for multiple felony auto theft and firearms and ammunition possession charges.
