State Representative Dean Davis from Broken Arrow was arrested in OKC overnight, accused of public drunkenness.
This arrest comes just 20 days after his previous deferred sentence ended.
The booking sheet from the Oklahoma County Detention Center says Davis was booked in around 3:45 AM.
It doesn’t say what time he was released, but his first vote on the House floor today was at 10:15 AM, when he voted no to amend HB 2151, the drunk impaired accountability law.
The amendment would’ve allowed a tracking app to be added to a person’s cell phone if convicted of DUI, if the DA agreed.
It failed.
Davis pleaded no contest to charges stemming from a 2019 arrest in Broken Arrow.
Those charges were driving impaired, speeding and obstructing.
That plea happened on September 6, 2022 and he got a 6 month deferred sentence that expired on March 3, 2023.
Davis made a statement on the House floor today at 12:43 pm that said, “I dispute any wrongdoing.
However I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to this body for creating this unnecessary distraction from the important work of the house.”
