State police: State trooper involved in shooting in Leonardtown

Authorities told reporter the shooting occurred on Hollywood Road near the Maryland State Police barracks in Leonardtown.
Maryland State Police said a trooper from the Leonardtown barracks was involved in a shooting after responding to a call for an individual who was possibly armed with a gun.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office tweeted shortly after 1:30 p.m., warning residents to avoid Hollywood Road.
No further information was immediately released.
