Spanish inflation scorches to record levels on back of energy crisis
Spanish inflation soared above expectations in February as consumer prices rocketed 7.5% above levels 12 months ago – the highest spike since records began 25 years ago.
Food, beverages, fuel and energy costs were cited as the key reasons, with the government offering tax breaks worth over €7bn to ease the burden on households while energy costs remain high.
