The accomplished musician, 26, slammed the ‘merciless’ and ‘disrespectful’ rumors in a statement provided by her management team to Page Six.
Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media,’ the statement began.
‘Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue. It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.’
Sophie joined the 32-year-old rocker’s Mainstream Sellout tour last year, which kicked off in June and came to a close in October.
She heavily documented her time on tour via her Instagram page, with many of the posts featuring MGK as well as other members of the band and crew.
Sophie has also performed alongside the Bloody Valentine hitmaker at several events and festivals.
Most recenty, she played guitar with MGK on Saturday, February 11 at Drake’s star-studded Super Bowl party in Arizona, which was also attended by Megan.
Sophie has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Christopher Painter for over five years.
Christopher has attended multiple shows on the Mainstream Sellout tour in support of his longtime partner.
Sophie honored Valentines Day by sharing a selfie with her man, where she declared him her ‘Valentine.’
