According to IMDB, the film focuses on twin brothers trying to leave behind their troubled lives. They return to their hometown, but “discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”
The Michael B. Jordan movie filmed partially in Donaldsonville in April 2024, titled “Sinners,” will be in theaters April 18, according to a new Warner Bros. Pictures trailer.
During the filming, Donaldsonville’s historic 200 block of Railroad Avenue was transformed when the crew arrived in the Ascension Parish city.
The thriller set in the 1930s South was filmed last year in several Louisiana locations in the New Orleans region.
Written and directed by Coogler, the cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller and Delroy Lindo.
Casting notices at the time indicated New Orleans, Belle Chasse, St. Bernard, Braithwaite, Tickfaw, Hammond, Napoleonville and Thibodaux were used as locations.
The production added to a list of movies filmed in Donaldsonville over the last two decades, including “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “The Highwaymen” and “We Have a Ghost.”
