“Slippery” FREEDOM a Right-Wing Rallying Call?… or so a Canadian broadcaster claims
A Canadian director of Hate, Bias & Extremism has told CBC that “freedom” is a “malleable term… that’s open to interpretation”, and has been dangerously co-opted by far-right groups.
“You can define it and understand it and sort of manipulate it in a way that makes sense to you and is useful to you, depending on your perspective,” she told the state broadcaster.
Sunday’s article also quotes another “expert” as calling freedom a “slippery concept”, while suggesting far-right groups only began surfacing in Canada in 2015 when Donald Trump came into the spotlight.
