Six people were taken to the hospital after a three-car accident on the Near West Side on Friday night.
At around 8 p.m., a man driving a 2021 Dodge Charger was hearing northbound in the 600 block of South Ashland Avenue when he swerved into the other lane to avoid another car, according to police.
The Charger collided with a red Nissan, which then collided with a Ford Expedition. A rideshare driver and his passenger were in the Nissan.
The Charger’s driver, a 44-year-old man, and the Nissan’s passenger, a 31-year-old man, were both taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
Four other men in the Charger received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital.
No one was hurt in the Ford Expedition.
The crash is still under investigation at this time.
