RawNews1st – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office 911 Emergency Communications Center received a phone call stating a subject in the City of Mannsville had been murdered.
A short time later Deputies arrived in the area and met with the reporting caller. Deputies received information of who was supposedly murdered and also the identity of the suspect, which committed the crime.
Upon obtaining this information Deputies went to a residence on Easy Street in Mannsville where the crime supposedly happened.
Sergeant Alyson Orr-Dodd, Deputy Amanda Smith, Sergeant Teddy Lenard and Sheriff Gary Dodd attempted to make contact with anyone at the residence but received no answer. Due to the allegations and a potential murder at the residence, Deputies made entry into the home.
Upon making entry Deputies located a male subject covered in blood laying in the living room floor, which had been stabbed multiple times. The victim had lost a massive amount of blood, was going into shock but was luckily still alive.

Also located in the living room was the victims infant son, which was found unharmed and quickly secured by Deputies. Deputies administered life saving medical aid to the victim until Johnston County EMS arrived on scene.
JCEMS worked quickly in treating the victim and transferring him to an Air Evac medical helicopter, which was landed near the scene and flew the victim to a higher level of care.
Department of Human Services arrived and the child was released to family members in a safe environment.
Deputies processed the crime scene, collected evidence, photographing the scene, collected measurements and other items.
Once the crime scene had been processed Deputies began canvassing the area, following up on leads and attempted to locate a male and female suspect, which was last seen on foot in the Mannsville area.
Although no direct threat existed to the Mannsville School, the school was put on lockdown as a precaution. A short time later Deputies located the two suspects in a small park in Mannsville where they were taken into custody without incident.

Deputies processed the two suspects and collected evidence from them.
Both suspects Nickolas Clark and Ali Roper were transported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Jail.
The investigation lasted well into the night, which lead Deputies to the weapon that was used in the attempted murder, which the suspects attempted to hide.
The motive of the stabbing is still under investigation.
Based upon preliminary investigation, both the male and female suspects are believed to have been under the influence of multiple illegal narcotics, to include methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms.
Nickolas Clark was booked into the Johnston County jail on the following charges:
- Attempted Murder in the first degree
- Destruction of evidence
- Impedes or interferes with Emergency telephone call
Ali Roper was booked into the Johnston County Jail on the following charges: - Accessory to attempted first degree murder after the fact
- Harboring a fugitive
Also assisting at the scene were Mannsville and Ravia Fire Departments.
