Shelter in Place Issued at ECSU: Windham High School Dismissing Early

RawNews1st – Schools in Windham have been placed into lockdown and Windham High School is dismissing early on Wednesday, according to school superintendent Tracy Youngberg.
Youngberg posted on the district’s Facebook page that police directed administrators to place Windham High School, and the Central Office in lockdown.
Out of an abundance of caution, police asked that all other Windham Public Schools go into lock down, according to Youngberg.
Police said the lockdowns and dismissal are due to a picture of a gun on snapchat. At this time, two students are being interviewed. No weapons are involved in the incident.
Eastern Connecticut State University has issued a shelter-in-place order after what it calls a firearm incident at Windham High School.
Any parents who have not already dropped off their children at a Windham campus are directed not to do so until further instructions.
Due to this developing incident in Windham, Eastern Connecticut State University officials have announced a shelter-in-place protocol on their campus
