Cumberland County District Attorney Sean McCormack said eleven men allegedly contacted undercover officers and arranged to meet them at a hotel and pay for sex.
The accused are:
- Jonathan Almodovar, 29, of York
- Haitham Alnaimat, 35, of Mechanicsburg
- Vanish Amin, 23, of Mechanicsburg
- Tyler Bailey, 25, of Carlisle
- Bryant Heckman, 29, of Mercersburg
- Steven Howell, 48, of Enola
- John Martin, 70, of Carlisle
- Thomas Reifsnider, 55, of Hanover
- Derrick Sanders, 27, of Annville
- Donte Traynham, 26, of Philadelphia
- Christopher Weller, 56, of Gettysburg
Charges of prostitution and related offenses were filed Tuesday. Preliminary hearings will be scheduled at a later date.
This most recent operation is one of four from the DA’s office in about eight months targeting people buying sex in the county. Thirty-six people have been arrested in these operations.
“They’re putting money in the pockets of the people that are running these sex trafficking operations,” McCormack said.
McCormack said the operations are an example of how his office is trying to fight human trafficking by targeting those soliciting sex. He said if there are fewer buyers, traffickers won’t be as attracted to the area.
“If you’re coming into Cumberland County looking to pay for sex, you may be the next person that we’re arresting,” McCormack said.
