At least 20 structures damaged by tornadoes in eastern Colorado on Sunday.
As of mid-afternoon, several tornado warnings and watches had been reported across the eastern plains, with tornadoes confirmed to have touched down near Bennett and Parker, with Adams County officials reporting at least 10 homes or buildings damaged or lost to the storm, and Elizabeth Fire Protection District reporting 19 homes with minor to severe damage in its area.
Although metro Denver may see some showers or thunderstorms, severe weather is not expected along the I-25 corridor.
The Colorado Division of Homeland Security Emergency Management Field Operations and the Colorado Emergency Operations Center are monitoring for resource requests and requests for assistance due to the weather impacts.
Flight delays continue to mount at Denver International Airport. As of 7 p.m., FlightAware was reporting 961 flights delayed at DIA and 16 flights cancelled. The majority of delayed flights were flying out of Denver.
As of 7 p.m., the airport remained on a ground delay, with an average delay of 138 minutes due to thunderstorms for departures. Arrivals had a 15 minute average delay due to the storms, according to the FAA.
The weather comes on the heels of deadly severe weather across much of the Midwest, with The Associated Press reporting that at least 27 people were killed during the aggressive storms, including 18 people in Kentucky.
