An attempted robbery at a multi-million dollar home in Hollywood Hills early Friday morning left five people shot, another dead, and police investigating multiple crime scenes.
The shooting happened shortly before 2 a.m. at a home in the 1400 block of Blue Jay Way during an attempted robbery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded and found three victims at that home — a man in his 60s in critical condition, and two other men, in their 40s and 50s, in stable condition.
Property records show the home where the robbery and shooting occurred is owned by Richard Saghian, founder and CEO at Fashion Nova. It was not immediately clear whether he was home at the time.
Police learned about a car, described as a silver or light-colored Audi, that may have been involved in the shooting and began searching for it, LAPD said. They located the car in Beverly Hills and pulled the driver over near Santa Monica Boulevard. and Doheny Drive.
The LAPD says three people were inside the car with two of them suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them died at the scene, the other was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The third individual was not hurt.
Police say three men approached the home and attempted a robbery that resulted in the shooting. The man in his 60s shot at the three men as they left the scene, according to LAPD.
The Santa Monica Boulevard and Doheny Drive intersection was shut down in the area for the investigation.
