Following a high-pressure gas line break Tuesday morning, several buildings in Evanston were evacuated.
Along with Nicor Gas, fire and construction crews arrived at 823 Dopson Avenue to manage the gas line break.
Due to the high gas levels, nearby buildings were evacuated.
The 800 block of Dopson Avenue and the odd-numbered side of the 800 block of Brummel Street have both experienced a temporary power outage due to ComEd.
For the next four to six hours, residents are asked to stay away from the region that lies east of Ridge Avenue, west of Custer Avenue, north of Howard Street, and south of Brummel Street.
