SALT LAKE CITY- Utah-based regional airline SkyWest Airlines grounded several flights because of an “internal server outage,” company officials confirmed in a statement to 2News.
SkyWest is the largest regional airline in the United States, operating flights for Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta and United.
Details about what caused the outage, or exactly how many flights were impact were not available. In
United Airlines initially confirmed the outage in a tweet to customers, saying the issues was “impacting departures with our flying partner, Skywest.”
The tweet went on to say company IT teams were resetting their servers.
2News contacted company headquarters in St. George. Officials issued a brief statement about the issue.
“SkyWest is experiencing an internal server outage and our IT teams are working to resolve the issue.
We apologize to customers for the inconvenience and are working to resume normal operations as quickly as possible,” the statement read.
