Seminole Police are investigating the murder of a toddler
They received a tip of a possible child death around 11 last night.
Officers discovered the burned remains of a toddler at 148 Old Highway 99 South in Seminole.
That led detectives to a crime scene at the home of Chad Jennings and his girlfriend Katherine Penner. Both have been arrested. Jennings faces charges of murder, child abuse by injury and conspiracy.
Penner faces charges of accessory to murder, child abuse by injury and desecration of a corpse.
OSBI is assisting with processing both crime scenes and the Medical Examiner will confirm identity of the child and determine cause of death.
Records show Jennings is currently on a deferred sentence in Seminole County.
January 2019, assault and battery by strangulation June 2019; domestic assault and battery.
For both cases, he got a 4 year deferred sentence and sentenced to drug court.
These current arrests, are not convictions.
