Ben Breakwell a school music teacher, 40, who had sex with two underage girls aged 13 and 14 faces jail time after conviction for 32 sex offenses.
Isleworth Crown Court heard how the professional singer abused his position as a music teacher to involve his young students in sexual activities.
Breakwell began a full-blown sexual relationship with two of his victims, and he also targeted a third girl during classes.
Once he kissed her in class. She was upset and later told her friends and then her mother who confronted Breakwell.
The victim later told police that she felt guilty about what had happened because she bought him a box of candy as a thank you and thought it might have encouraged him.
He started a full-blown sexual relationship with two of his victims and targeted a third.
Ben Breakwell looked after the two girls and organized a series of shady encounters at his home while working at a secondary school in London
The friends of one of the victims approached a colleague of Breakwell in September 2017 and told him about their suspicions.
The school immediately suspended him, the police were notified and an investigation led by specialist officers from the West Area Command Unit was launched.
The perverted teacher was charged with a series of offenses in February 2020, but denied that any sexual relationship had taken place between him and the girls. A search of his computer revealed indecent images of another victim who did not live in this country.
He branded the claims “fantasy” and could have been lifted from Fifty Shades of Grey.
The violations date back to his time teaching at the school between 2014 and 2017.
According to the prosecutor, the offenses were kissing, intimate touching and more serious acts, including oral sex.
Breakwell was remanded in custody and will be sentenced in the same court on a date to be determined.
Detective Constable Ben Lawrence-Smith said, “My thoughts are with the young girls who were betrayed by Breakwell. They have all been incredibly brave and it is their courage to speak out that brought him to justice.
Breakwell cheated and abused these girls and then tried to avoid any responsibility for his actions. They were manipulated in such a way that some felt they were doing it wrong. The fact that Breakwell was a teacher only adds to this gross betrayal of trust.
“It can be difficult for victims of sex crimes to speak out, especially if the perpetrators are people of power and trust. I would ask that if you suspect that someone is at risk of similar manipulation and abuse, you tell someone, be it a parent, a caregiver or someone in authority.
“Due to the predatory nature of Breakwell’s crimes, it’s possible there are more victims yet to come forward. If you or someone you know has been affected by Breakwell’s violation, or you have been the victim of a sex crime, please contact the police. Specially trained officers will be on hand to listen and support all allegations and bring offenders to justice.”
“Clearly, Breakwell was a sexual predator who carefully manipulated these young girls to exploit them. His victims were very young and he made them believe they were in love with him, knowing that if they cared about him, they would be less likely to point out his crimes to someone.
