Santos-Brown has been charged with manslaughter, police say
At 9:42 p.m., police say a shooting happened at 4204 11th Avenue South in St. Petersburg, Florida. Upon arrival, they found a young boy dead inside of a home.
The victim was identified as 11-year-old Veondre Hargrove.
The suspect, 14-year-old Gavin Lorenzo Santos-Brown, and Hargrove were visiting a friend at the time of the incident. An argument ensued and shots were fired.
At this point, it’s unclear where the gun used in the shooting came from.
Santos-Brown has been charged with manslaughter. He turned himself in on August 11.
