Samsung confirm hackers steal source code for Galaxy smartphones
The company said Monday its network data was breached, and hackers stole almost 200 gigabytes of confidential information – including the Galaxy source code.
Lapsus$ hacking group – the same team that infiltrated Nvidia – has subsequently claimed responsibility and published thousands of employee credentials online.
The group have also allegedly leaked source code for trusted applets installed in Samsung’s TrustZone environment.
The source code is reportedly used for performing sensitive operations, algorithms for all biometric unlock operations and bootloader source code for all recent Samsung Galaxy devices.
