Santa Fe, NM – Santa Fe Police is seeking Salvador Sanchez Reyes, 41, of Santa Fe following an incident early this afternoon where he fired a gun at his ex-girlfriend near Las Acequias Park.
The Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center received several calls of a weapons infraction near Calle Atajo and Avenida Linda, drawing a large police response to the location.
Officers made contact with the victim who informed officers that she was in the neighborhood to visit a friend. She had seen Mr. Sanchez Reyes in a vehicle and rolled down her window.
She alleged Mr. Sanchez Reyes then opened fire with a gun, shooting in her direction. She accelerated to get away from him and he chased her in his vehicle and fired the gun again towards her.
Officers observed several projectile impacts from gunfire on her vehicle. Fortunately no one was physically injured by the gunfire.
The investigating officer was able to talk briefly with Mr. Sanchez Reyes over the phone about the incident. When he was informed he is facing criminal charges, Mr. Sanchez Reyes hung up the phone.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Mr. Sanchez Reyes and he is wanted by Santa Fe Police for Aggravated Assault on a Household Member with a Deadly Weapon to Wit: Handgun, Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle, and Negligent Use of a Firearm.

It is possible Mr. Sanchez Reyes may be in the Albuquerque Metropolitan Area. Mr. Sanchez Reyes is believed to be driving a white 2007 Toyota Corolla bearing NM license plate (yellow license plate) of 109WSM.

If you see Mr. Sanchez Reyes immediately contact police, do not approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous.
