Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine shows higher Omicron-antibody levels when compared to Pfizer’s – study
A preliminary study has found that levels of Omicron-neutralizing antibodies of people vaccinated with Sputnik, didn’t decline as much as those vaxxed with Pfizer’s jab.
Researchers from both Italy’s Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases and Russia’s Gamaleya National Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology said samples taken 3-6 months after the 2nd jab, found 2 doses of Sputnik were more resistant to Omicron than those inoculated with Pfizer.
Omicron-specific neutralizing antibodies were detected in the blood serum of 74.2% of people jabbed with Sputnik and 56.9% of those vaxxed with Pfizer/BioNtech
