Russian Troops Begin Pullout from Kazakhstan as Peacekeepers Praised – Blinken comments age like an Afghan withdrawal promise
More than 2K Russian troops have started a 10-day phased pullout from Kazakhstan, after security bloc CSTO Gen. Zas has hailed the group’s “highly effective” coordinated efforts.
The operation in Kazakhstan was the first deployment of CSTO troops, and came with criticism from the US which doubted the legality of the mission.
America’s top diplomat Anthony Blinken even warned Kazakhstan, “It’s hard to get Russians to leave once they’re in your home.”
