Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting in the Area of Stone-Eden Mobile Home Park, Results in Vehicle Pursuit and Search for Suspects
Wentworth, N.C.— At around 1:42 a.m. this morning, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Bob Trail in Stone-Eden Mobile Home Park in response to gunshots reported in the area.
Upon their arrival, Deputies were told that a Silver in color Ford Focus had drove through the area discharging a firearm. No one was struck by the gunfire.
Soon after, while searching the area, Sheriff’s Deputies located what they believed to be the suspect vehicle and a high speed pursuit ensued.
Tire Deflation Devices were deployed at Harrington Highway and NC 14 by Eden Police Officers and the suspect vehicle’s tires were deflated as a result.
The car came to a stop on nearby Town Creek Rd. and two Males fled from the vehicle into the surrounding woodline.
The suspect vehicle was seized by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies searched the area for the suspects utilizing K-9s but have thusfar been unable to locate. Sheriff’s Deputies continue to have a heavy presence in the area.
