DAYTON, Ohio – The man who took a child and later returned after the child was reported missing could face one criminal charge.
The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office told 2 NEWS one charge of Child Endangerment will be presented to a Montgomery County grand jury next week.
Streety has been charged with Child Endangerment in Dayton Municpal Court and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
Robert Streety was taken into custody Thursday after the child he had with him was reported missing. Police said Streety is a family friend and sometimes caregiver for the child. Police said Streety had the child for nearly four hours before returning the child to his parents Thursday.
The child was reunited with family and Streety was taken into custody for questioning. THe child was not hurt and police said Streety was surprised there were concerns for the child’s safety.
The Montgomery County grand jury could review the charges as soon as next week. As of Friday, Streety has not been charged with a crime. Streety is now in the Montgomery County Jail.
