Examiners are near sticking the homicide of the fourth Gilgo Ocean side casualty on thought chronic executioner Rex Heuermann — and are extending their test to associate him to the next six bodies unloaded in the far off Lengthy Island spot, a policing told The Post.
The most recent update working on this issue comes after Heuermann was accused last seven day stretch of killing three unimposing sex laborers — Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, and Golden Lynn Costello, 27 — whose remains were viewed as in 2010.
The ladies, alongside Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, were known as the “Gilgo Four.” Heuermann argued not blameworthy to three counts every one of first-and second-degree murder.
He is viewed as the excellent suspect in Brainard-Barnes’ passing, authorities have said.
“Now that we’ve welcomed arraignment on three of the killings, and we accept we will be exceptionally near settling the fourth one very soon, we will progress forward into that large number of different cases,” the source said.
At the same time, investigators weren’t sure if any of the women were killed in Heuermann’s Massapequa Park home but were pouring through mounds of evidence looking for their DNA or other evidence, the source said.
“That’s why we are doing the searches that we’re doing,” the source said. “It’s going to take months of testing before we even know if we found anything because, you know, it could be Rex’s blood, it could be a victim’s blood, it could be ketchup.”
