A restaurant and a retail store were robbed in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood on Monday night, the latest in a string of heists on the city’s Northwest Side.
A male walked into a restaurant in the 2000 block of North Western Avenue around 8 p.m. and took cash from the register while implying a weapon, according to police.
There were no reported injuries as the suspect fled.
A male wearing a black hoodie and mask entered a store in the 1800 block of West North Avenue and flashed a handgun at the clerk, announcing a robbery, according to police.
The clear agreed and handed over the money. The suspect ran away from the scene.
Police have not stated whether they believe the robberies are linked. Area Five detectives are looking into it.
On Chicago’s Northwest Side, two liquor stores and a bar were robbed on Sunday night.
