Frito-Lay announced the voluntary recall Friday of select Tostitos Avocado Salsa Dips. The company says they were sold in stores across the US and online.
The labels on the backs of certain jars were apparently switched with labels intended for another product.
So, the product contains milk that is not declared as an ingredient.
Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the product, the FDA stated in a press release.
The affected lots were sold in 15 oz. glass jars with a UPC barcode ending in “0559.”
They’ve been available since April 5 and have a “Best Before” date of either Nov. 2 or 3, 2023.
No other Tostitos products, flavors, sizes, or dip variety packs are included in the recall. The release says that Frito-Lay has not received any reports of allergic reactions so far.
If you have a severe sensitivity or allergy to milk, do not eat the dip and throw it away immediately.Â
