Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP investigates rash of break and enters, recovers stolen property; one man arrested and two others are wanted
Three 24-year-old men of Grand Falls-Windsor, William Murphy, Carlos Letemplier and Joshua Day, are charged with a number of criminal offences following an investigation into a recent rash of break and enters by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP.
The break and enters occurred between July 17-July 26, 2022, at a number of commercial properties at various locations in Central NL.
On July 17, 2022, William Murphy was arrested near Buchans after fleeing from police in a dangerous manner in a stolen vehicle.
Murphy is charged with a total of 22 criminal charges, including break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00, theft of a motor vehicle, flight from police, refusal to comply with a breath demand, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief over $5000.00 (damage to property). He attended court that day and was remanded into custody.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Carlos Letemplier and Joshua Day who are wanted in relation to similar charges and have been actively evading police.
As a result of the investigation, a large number of stolen items including four stolen vehicles, various power tools, and large quantities of lottery tickets, tobacco and alcohol, were recovered.
