Rapper BigXthaPlug arrested in Dallas, TX authority say
Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug has been arrested, according to jail records. Dallas County jail records showed that Xavier Landum — who goes by the stage name BigXthaPlug — was taken into custody at 2:20 a.m.
Friday on charges of marijuana possession of less than two ounces and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Landum was arrested at 2:20 a.m., according to jail records. Dallas Police took Landum into custody, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The 27-year-old music artist, whose legal name is Xavier Landum, was listed in the booking system as of Friday morning along with a mugshot.
The circumstances around his arrest are unknown. NBC 5 has reached out to Dallas Police and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department for additional information and is still waiting to hear back.
Landum had promoted a planned release party for a new country album on social media, which was to take place at a Deep Ellum nightclub on Thursday night.
According to our partners at the Dallas Morning News, he also had a planned album release party at a DFW-area Wingstop on Friday night. The location and details had not been posted yet.
He experienced a challenging upbringing in Dallas, Texas, marked by struggles with school, involvement in the streets, and an early interest in football.
After a stint in Crown College where he was expelled for selling marijuana, he turned to music, finding inspiration in his experiences and channeling them into his lyrics.
He gained recognition with his debut album “Amar” and the hit single “Mmhmm”, solidifying his place in the Texas rap scene and beyond.
