RawNews1st – Qualin C. Lewis (DOB: 10/13/99) in connection to the shooting at Peoria County Deputies on 03/16/23 in the 2800 block of W. Ann St. Peoria County Sheriff’s Investigators, Peoria Police Department, and the ATF investigated Lewis and conducted surveillance on Lewis.
Lewis was arrested in an apartment in the 2800 block of Ann St at approximately 1430hrs on 06/07/23 by the listed agencies. During the arrest, officers found a Draco AK-47 pistol in the apartment where Lewis was located.
Lewis was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, 2 counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Lewis had a Department of Corrections Parole Warrant. More charges could be added at a later date by the State’s Attorney.

At approximately 12:16 a.m. Peoria County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of W. Ann St. on a 4-round Shotspotter alert.
Upon arrival deputies located a black male with a hoodie on in the area and the male immediately fired several shots at the two deputies.
The male fled the area on foot and was not located. The deputies involved were not injured. The deputies recovered two firearms and shell casings at the scene, one firearm was stolen from Chicago.
This incident is currently under investigation and no suspects are in custody at this time.
