Putin & Xi to Discuss “Aggressive” US/NATO Rhetoric in Video Call
Presidents Putin and Xi will discuss what they see as “aggressive” positions of both the US and NATO during their video summit call on Wednesday, Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov said.
Both leaders have held calls recently with President Biden and have expressed concerns over Washington’s meddling in regional affairs; Putin was warned that Russia faces serious sanctions if an invasion of Ukraine is launched, while US relations with Taiwan remain a sore point for China.
The virtual summit is expected to further cement the relationship between Russia and China – with Putin and Xi already agreeing to extend a 20-year friendship and cooperation treaty this year.
