Police arrested seven protesters outside a Omaha police officers union hall after the group left three severed pig heads wearing police hats outside.
On Saturday, a group of about 40 protestors marched from a ‘pig roast’ held at nearby Montclair Park to the union station where they confronted officers at the parking lot.Â
‘What part of this is okay?’ Sgt. Conner, the union president, asked in a Facebook post where he decried the ‘despicable act,’ and included photos of the pig heads.
Omaha mayor Jean Stothert denounced the protestors actions and commended the responding officers for their professionalism.
Protestors were met in the parking lot by officers who advised them they were on private property and they would be arrested.Â
Protestors proceeded to flaunt severed pig heads with police hats on and call out officers who stood mostly quietly while periodically advising the crowd that they were trespassing and must leave by 9 pm.
After 9 pm the protest was declared unlawful and seven people were arrested.
Protestors left three pig heads with police uniforms and copies of the Watkins flyer on the police union parking lot. Â

‘The disgusting incident at the Omaha Police Officers Association headquarters Saturday night was intended to provoke conflict,’ Stothert said in a statement on Monday. ‘The responding officers acted professionally and responsibly after repeated attempts to peacefully clear private property.’
