Prominent Saudi political activist sues US officials over hacking revelations
Loujain al-Hathloul, who led the push to end a ban on women driving in Saudi Arabia, is suing three fmr. US intelligence and military officers for allegedly hacking her cellphone.
Al-Hathloul says the officials infiltrated her personal device, so a foreign govt could allegedly spy on her before she was imprisoned and subsequently ‘tortured.’
She says that the hacking enabled her “arbitrary arrest by the UAE’s security services and return to Saudi Arabia, where she was detained.
