On October 20, 2024 at 6:42 p.m., police say a violent incident happened on I-85 South in west Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers found a 33-year-old pregnant woman suffering from serious injuries and broken bones. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Kimberly Barbara Price, ran over a known pregnant woman with her vehicle.

On October 21, Price was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and battery of an unborn child.

Price was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail. She is scheduled for a first appearance hearing Monday afternoon at the Mecklenburg County courthouse.
