Police in Chicago’s West Side are warning residents about a boy who has been robbing people while riding his bike or scooter in East Garfield Park.
According to the CPD, the boy, who is between the ages of 12 and 14, is accused of approaching pedestrians while riding a bike or scooter and announcing a robbery. During one of the robberies, the boy displayed a handgun. He implied he had a gun in the other two instances and threatened to shoot the victims if they did not comply.
According to police, the suspect stole the victims’ headphones, money, and jewelry.
Over the last three months, he has at least three victims. The robberies happened just a few blocks apart at the following times and locations:
On August 25, at 4:30 p.m., in the 3200 block of West Franklin Street
On September 30, at 4:18 p.m., in the 400 block of North Kedzie Avenue
On October 3 at 4:30 p.m., in the 400 block of North Kedzie Avenue
The suspect was described as being about 5 feet tall and 120 pounds, with a deformed left eye.
