One victim is dead after a group of suspects confronted and shot him early Sunday morning.
Lakewood Police were called to the area of
W. Colfax Ave. and Sheridan Blvd. for reports of a shooting.
When police responded they found the victim, an adult Hispanic male, deceased in the driver side of his vehicle. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Ramon Castro Contreras of Denver.
Surveillance video obtained by Lakewood Police shows three masked suspects and a vehicle pull up to the victim’s vehicle as he was parked in a car wash bay at the car wash located at 1433 Sheridan Blvd.
Within seconds the suspects shoot the victim as he tried to drive away. Upon further investigation, it appears that the three suspects on foot had also attempted to rob several people near the bus stop at W. Colfax Ave. and Sheridan Blvd.

At approximately 6:30 P.M., a vehicle associated with this shooting was recovered after suspects fled from Denver Police. Several suspects in the vehicle were taken to jail on unrelated warrants.
It is unknown at this time if they had any involvement in the homicide.
